Auditions 2019-2020 Season and European Tour

Orchestra Gradus ad Parnassum welcomes musically gifted young people to discover their hidden talents and proudly announces Auditions for 2019-2020 Season and European Tour to Hungary, Slovakia and Austria. Symphonic instrumental players aged 12 to 18 are eligible to apply. Exceptions to this age range may be made at the discretion of the Artistic Director.

Scholarships are available for those who excel at Auditions and rehearsals. See Programs.

Season 2019-2020 rehearsals will be held from September till June in the Mission district of Fremont, CA.

European Tour will be mandatory part of the season on June 22-29, 2020.

We will offer an opportunity to perform in one of the world’s most prestigious concert halls in Budapest, Eisenstadt and Vienna, visit historic landmark sites related to the lives of great composers Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven and Liszt, experience unparalleled educational opportunities and memories that will last a lifetime.

Festival concert celebrating Beethoven’s 250th Anniversary at the Golden Hall of Vienna Musikverein, home of Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, will conclude the tour.

Instruments that are welcome: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Percussion

To apply fill out an online application and wait for a confirmation e-mail. You can state date(s) and times you are available on or prefer, they will be taken into consideration, however they are not guaranteed. You will get a final e-mail with your time by February 23. Make sure to check all e-mail inboxes, including “Spam”.

$15 non-refundable application fee in cash (no change) is required on the day of the audition.

Results might be sent within days of your audition or no later than March 10, 2019.  OGP reserves right not to comment whatever outcome of auditions.

  1. One or two unaccompanied pieces of music (no memorization is required) containing slow and fast sections.
  2. Any scale and arpeggio in different articulations.
